The Maintenance team is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all the University buildings including:
general utilities used on campus
the built environment
ensuring that the estate is maintained in a safe an compliant condition
The Maintenance team works within the policies, procedures, and legislative frameworks and to generic and job-specific risk assessments and method statements.
Our in-house trade teams carry out maintenance, repairs, and inspections across campus. All our trades have the relevant required qualifications and training and regularly upskill with additional training.
The Building team consists of building surveyors, carpenters, painters, and bricklayers working together to deliver a high-quality finish to their work
Our Electrical team is comprised of bright sparks maintaining the power, lighting, heating, and automatic doors across campus
The Mechanical team look after the plumbing, drainage, heating, and boilers on the estate. Our fitters, assistants, plumbers, and drainage operatives ensure that everything keeps moving in the right direction
Compliance and Asset team
The Compliance and Asset team carries out maintenance, repairs, and inspections using measured-term-contract and specialist-contract labour including:
air conditioning engineers
water hygiene technician
Capital Development team
The Capital Development team carry out the planning, design and supervision of major building contracts for the university, as well as supervision of all health and safety issues for the work of Estate Management as a whole.
The Space Planning team carry out the planning, design and supervision of refurbishments within the existing University estate, ranging from room refurbishments to re-imagining whole departments as they grow and expand.
