LinkedIn Learning video training courses

LinkedIn Learning (previously Lynda.com) is an online educational platform that helps you discover and develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos. 

  • You have free access to LinkedIn Learning for as long as you're a member of staff at the University of Essex.
  • With more than 5,000 courses and personalized recommendations, you can discover, complete, and track courses related to your field and interests.
  • You can also choose to add these courses and related skills to your LinkedIn profile once you've completed them.

Getting started

Watch the how to use LinkedIn Learning video if you're using LinkedIn Learning for the first time.

When you sign in for the first time you'll be given the option to bind your LinkedIn account (.pdf) with your LinkedIn Learning account.



Sign in to LinkedIn Learning

On a mobile? Get the LinkedIn Learning app and sign in with your organisation portal (enter essex.ac.uk and then sign in).

Using LinkedIn Learning 

Collections and Learning Paths

Learning Paths suggest content in a specific order and Collections (formerly Playlists in Lynda) suggest content without a specific order. You can add custom content like links and pdfs to these.

You can recommend and share custom learning paths and collections with your students and colleagues. LinkedIn Learning also provides ready-made learning paths that you can recommend, share, or tailor to your learners.

Adding LinkedIn Learning content to your Moodle courses

LinkedIn Learning is a third party service. Your personal information will be stored by LinkedIn Learning, a part of LinkedIn Inc. The University works under contract with LinkedIn Learning so that your personal data will not be stored outside the European Economic Area.
