High standards of professional behaviour and conduct are essential for the maintenance of a good working environment for all. The aim of the Disciplinary Procedure (.pdf) is to help and encourage people to achieve and maintain these standards.
Where action is taken, it should be applied consistently and fairly in every case, with proper and proportionate warning.
The procedure has the following stages:
First formal written or oral warning
Final formal written warning
What you need to do
Any concerns should be dealt with as they arise, informally if possible and without recourse to the formal procedure. Disciplinary Procedure Guidance (.pdf) is available to support in this.
If formal action is considered or if informal action is not possible because of the seriousness of the issue, this should be addressed with advice from People and Culture.
