Biography
Having come late to higher education, I walked on to the Colchester campus of the University of Essex in late 2013. I've been here ever since. Outside of academia, I am a mother of 7 and a grandmother to 8 grandchildren. I've been married to my husband, Mark, for over thirty years. Though we have lived in Essex for just over twenty years, my heart and soul remain in the Welsh mountains, to which I will one day return.

From Gypsy Fire to Circus Ring: A Pscyhogeographic Search for Home
This doctoral thesis will produce a collection of writing, embodying discovery procedures concerning the existence of Home. The creative component of this work is experimental in form and shape, sometimes walking the boundaries between fiction and non-fiction. It is concerned with the multiple and interdisciplinary definitions of the concept of Home, exploring questions of kinship, culture and history, geography, spirituality and psychology.
