Law at Essex is ranked 47th and social sciences is ranked 65th in the THE World University Rankings by Subject, which show the strongest universities across the globe for key subjects.
Essex is also ranked highly in five other areas in the THE World University Rankings by Subject 2023:
For UK universities, Law is ranked 9th, Social Sciences is ranked 8th, Business and Economics is top 25, and Computer Science is top 30 in the THE World University Rankings by Subject.
Dean of Essex Law School, Professor Onyeka Osuji said: “Being 47th in THE World University Rankings by Subject for Law is a testament of the excellent social justice centred research and education carried out at Essex Law School in human rights, public law, international law, private and business law, sociolegal studies and other areas.
“I thank my colleagues for their demonstrative commitment to excellence in research and education which has resulted in this fantastic collective achievement.
“The School is an inclusive environment that welcomes and provides opportunities for staff and students from a range of backgrounds to excel.
