Part-time study

Can I study part-time?

Most of our taught courses are available as part-time study to Home and EU students and those international students with the necessary immigration status to do so. More information is available on our course finder. Our part-time tuition fees are proportionate to the full-time rate.

How does part-time study work?

Part-time study is normally undertaken on a half-time basis, with your programme completed in twice the duration of the full-time equivalent, eg 24 months for a Masters. There is no fixed pattern for the teaching of part-time study and attendance requirements may vary in volume and timing, from year to year and from programme to programme. Several of our taught courses can be studied on a modular basis, whereby the total volume of credit for the award is accumulated over an extended period (up to six years for a Masters course).

If you wish to study part-time, you will be asked to select this on your application form.

We ask for evidence of your English language ability, if English is not your first language, to ensure you derive full benefit from your time at our University. The score required will vary by subject - find out more by using our course finder.
