Target group:
Any member of staff who chairs a Staff selection panel or committee must have
completed either a full course on Recruitment and Selection or a Briefing
Session for Chairs. This has been agreed by the University Council and
Senate.
Course description:
Recent changes to legislation require the University to ensure that the
staff recruitment process is carried out correctly and that discrimination
does not take place. This Briefing Session will inform staff involved
in the process of the
University's procedures and practices with particular emphasis on the duties
of those who chair such procedures.

This session will cover the practical aspects of Recruitment and
Selection of staff, including such things as drafting selection criteria,
short-listing, the interview process and the final selection of a suitable
candidate.
