Our campuses: Southend

The Southend Campus, opened in 2007, is based in the heart of Southend-on-Sea in south Essex.  The Gateway Building, the first of the Southend Campus developments, offers modern, state-of-the-art teaching and business environments in a busy town centre location.

Four departments run courses from the Southend Campus, their students benefiting from modern lecture rooms, rehearsal studios with panoramic sea views and high-tech medical skills labs.

Clifftown, a renovated church provides further space for the East 15 Acting School students, complementing the existing facilities in The Gateway Building. Original features of the church have been maintained to offer a beautiful environment to study and perform.

The Southend Campus is also home to the Business Hub, a specialist resource for companies of all sizes, which aims to foster and promote economic sustainability. The Business Hub provides a wide range of support services and contemporary, professional facilities including a Business Incubation Centre for start-up businesses and the renowned i-Lab.

Ready for 2010 entry is our brand new student residences University Square which has 561 modern en-suite rooms and is guaranteed to all first year students. Further information is also available on the University accommodation website.

Southend-on-Sea is a vibrant seaside town and its seven miles of award-winning coastline provides ample opportunity for a variety of water sports and leisure activities. With great transport links around the county and to London there is always lots to see and do.
