| Professional Development Framework |
| In 2005 the Essex Professional Development
Framework (EPDF) was established to provide a more coherent structure for continuing
professional development for staff. The
EPDF offers staff
opportunities to gain qualifications, credits or recognition for their
participation in professional development, supported at the core by a
process of personal reflection and planning. The EPDF is mapped to
the National Professional Standards Framework
for supporting learning and teaching and was accredited by the
Higher
Education Academy as part of a national Continuing
Professional Development (CPD) initiative.
|
|
| The number of qualifications within the EPDF is
set to expand over the next three years. In addition to the
Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice (PG CHEP), additional
PG Certificates will be available in Research Management and Education
Management. For more information about the qualifications in
the EPDF please follow the links on the left hand side. |

General Events Programme |
| As well as more formal induction training and
qualifications, there is also a large open events programme for staff which
focuses on different aspects of learning, teaching and research, and
showcases innovation. Information about current and forthcoming
workshops is available on our
events page.
