This course provides a sound theoretical foundation in applied linguistics for language teaching, as well as practical experience both of locating resources and of creating them. This course provides a sound knowledge of classroom English Language teaching practices with young learners and familiarises students with the design of language teaching programmes aimed at developing EFL communication skills for children. This graduate programme provides students with the opportunity to become familiar with contemporary approaches to the study of language and to develop a critical, in-depth comprehension or one or more theoretical and/or descriptive sub-disciplines of linguistics. Students take two specific modules, one research support module, and departmental professional development training courses in each term, as well as embarking on research for their dissertation from the beginning.
