Outstanding research quality
Research is central to our work at our School of Law with 90 per cent of our research rated as being of
'internationally recognised', 'internationally excellent' or 'world-leading' in the last Research Assessment
Exercise. This means we are in the top 25 for research in the United Kingdom.
Major research projects based at Essex include Professor Maurice Sunkin's work with
the Public Law Project to scrutinise the value of judicial review in the UK, funded by the Nuffield Foundation.
The Essex Business and Human Rights Project also brings together academics across disciplines to investigate new
issues facing the legal field.
