Where is Essex?
Beautiful countryside and lively towns
Essex is a county in the east of England and is situated to the east
of London. From pretty villages set in peaceful surroundings to busy market
towns steeped in history, from tranquil walks along wide sandy beaches to town
centres brimming with history and culture, there is plenty on offer in the
beautiful county of Essex.
Getting to London
Essex has excellent links by rail and road into central London. Trains run
between central London and both Colchester and Southend taking up to an hour. The
University's East 15 Acting School is approximately 45 minutes from central
London on the London Underground Tube.
Visiting Europe
There are six airports within two hours commute from our campuses. Stansted (London's third international airport) is just
45 minutes away from all three campuses. Coach and bus services run between Stansted and the University's
Colchester Campus or Southend town every hour during the day. Southend also has an airport just outside the town
which flies to popular European destinations.
