Our approach to the Global Alliance
Our strategic vision is to be a powerful regional university with global
impact. As part of this our Global Alliance is seeking out universities with
overlapping and complementary research interests. We also want to use our
Global Alliance to develop new opportunities for students to study abroad
and establish joint educational opportunities.
Our first agreement with the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi,
was signed in 2010 and the second with the University of Konstanz in
south-west Germany was signed in 2011.
We want to continue to expand our Global Alliance further and develop
even closer links with our partners as the alliance progresses.
Delegations from Essex and JNU have already taken part in exchange visits
involving academics from Language and Linguistics, Philosophy, Literature,
Film, and Theatre Studies, East 15 Acting School, Essex Business
School, Law and the Human Rights Centre.
All three universities also combined for a linguistics workshop held at
the Colchester Campus in the summer of 2011.
